Meet The Team
Its crazy to think that it only took six people to make this happen and … a lot of prayer. Not including all of the support over the years. The journey has been a long one but we are happy to say that we are finally in the routine we need to be in to keep things running smoothly.
Each of us have a job, each job is equally important to what we do here at Ramey Publishing. You have the Owner & CFO who oversees and watches from the shadows to ensure things run smoothly, The Author who tells the story, The IT specialist that does the background work and technical work, The Executive assistant that does a little bit of everything, the Editor that makes sure everything is perfect on the page, and the team cheerleader who is the backbone of the Author. With out this team where would we be? Would we be in the house chasing kids? Would we be in the backyard training dogs? Maybe We would be in the Dungeon fighting monsters and activating secret traps. Maybe we would be in the craft room making… well…crafts.
So to scratch the itch of curiosity, here is a sneak peak through the window of our lives.
Lets meet the team!
David Ramey, Author
David was born in central Ohio all the way back in 1968. He graduated from Highland High School in Sparta, Ohio in 1987 and went into the United States Navy shortly after that. David met his wife Misty during Desert Shield and they were married in early 1991 during Desert Storm while they were both stationed in California.
That same year after they were both discharged, they moved back home to Ohio and started their family. Over the next fourteen years David and Misty had been blessed with four beautiful children. At the time of this writing, those four children have given their parents enough grandchildren to start their own Jedi Academy.
David spent most of his adult life working in the Trades as a driver, a heavy equipment operator, and a teledata technician. He was diagnosed with Diabetes in 2003. Between the disease and all of the bumps and bruises he gained along the way, David stopped working outside of the home in September of 2022. Three months after that time, he completed the Dawning manuscript which he had been working on for several years.
Since completing the first manuscript, it has been an incredible learning curve. David has been truly blessed by the people surrounding him. From members of his immediate family, to dear friends from church, to the folks he grew up going to school with… blessed indeed. David and Misty formed the Ramey Publishing Corporation on November 19, 2023. From this platform, David will produce his own stories as an Independent Author.
Dave loves to tell people about his favorite authors and storytellers:
Misty Ramey, Owner & CFO
Misty…Where to begin. Misty is the Wife to David Ramey. They have been married for thirty-five years. Together, they have four children and seventeen grandchildren (so far). She has six dogs, four snakes, one lizard, and one cat.
She served six years in the U.S Navy during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Misty has been a Registered Nurse since 2015, and before that she was an STNA. Misty enjoys horticulture, reading, a wide variety of crafts, and occasionally playing video games with her grandkids.
Tom Groshong, Technology Specialist
Ohioan and childhood friend of the Ramey Family, Tom lends a hand with all things technology. Whether that means integrating business software, managing websites and email, or just holding Dave’s hand while he frustratingly wrangles an excel spreadsheet, Tom is there.
As a professional technology consultant, he has worked with a number of companies of all shapes and sizes, throughout the United States. An expert programmer, strong systems thinker, and smart problem solver, he runs his own consulting business when he’s not helping us keep the lights on.
Arilyn Welker, Executive Assistant
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story can make all the difference.
Arilyn is a bit of a wild card. While she may be an assistant to Ramey Publishing, She is also a stay at home mom of two beautiful boys, A provider, lover, dreamer, and so much more.
Arilyn has lived in 3 different states throughout childhood, Ohio where she was born, Kentucky, and Oregon. She is now back in Ohio with her Husband Zak, two kids, and what feels like a Zoo of house pets.
“Dreaming is just that, it’s a dream until you try” -Arilyn
Kimberly Coghlan, Editor
Kimberly Coghlan lives in Tupelo, Mississippi—yep, Elvis Presley’s hometown—with her husband Craig, her daughter Riley, and her stepdaughter Allix. Their two dogs, Robby, the boxer, and Rookie, the miniature schnauzer, keep life interesting (and a little noisy).
Kimberly holds a B.S. in English Education and an M.A. in English. She began her career in the classroom, teaching both high school and college English before transitioning into publishing—where her teaching roots continue to shine through. She’s a firm believer that “teachers make the best editors”—and if you’ve worked with her, you know she proves that true.
After stepping away from the classroom, she worked with several small publishers and eventually launched her own business, Coghlan Professional Writing Services, where she helps authors shape their stories and polish their prose. Over the years, Kimberly has edited hundreds of manuscripts—ranging from traditionally published works to indie gems.
When she’s not deep in a manuscript, she’s probably reading for fun, hanging out with her family, or dreaming of her happy place: the beaches of Fort Morgan, Alabama.
Bradley Jones, Sr. Publicist
Bradley Jones is a Senior Publicist and writer with over 25 years of experience managing PR release and awards campaigns for books, feature films, and television series, representing authors, actors, filmmakers, distributors, and studios, as well as producers and publishers.
We’re extremely proud to have Bradley onboard with the RPC Family!
Jeremy Ramey, Cheerleader & Guitar Picker
Jeremy is one of the biggest supporters of Ramey Publishing.
Even though he would never admit it, Jeremy is one of the kindest people you will ever meet. Some of his hobbies are playing guitar, singing, and poking fun with his family and friends.
